Good but tired

Today I visited the gym again. I’m really happy that I managed to do just over 2000 metres in 20 minutes on the treadmill. I know, I know it’s not a world record-setting speed or anything. But it means that I managed to beat my last distance with 400 metres. And that’s not too bad is it? At the moment I’m not looking into adding that much more distance into those 20 minutes my big goal is to be able to run the whole time. As it is now I can only do a few minutes here and there. So I’d rather stick to my slow 6k/hour tempo until I can manage to run 2k in one go. After that I can work on my speed.

Once I had done my treadmill work I jumped over to the rowing machine. I was set on beating my time from the last session… well, that didn’t happen. 5 minutes in the row I felt that my arms and my back were pretty tired. So I had to take a break and catch my breath. I did finish the whole distance though but the time was not much to talk about. But I’m still happy as I did the whole thing and I didn’t quit!

After this I went on and did a few strength exercises. First on the mat and then on the power plate. Did a static squat trio with normal, wide and narrow squat. 30 hertz for 30 seconds. That gave my thighs something to scream about. What a burn!

I finished my exercise with 30 minutes in the pool. Same here, I didn’t have the oomph to keep going. I got a bit bored… well not really bored but my body felt weird, not any pains or anything like that. More like it said that it was enough for today. So instead I relaxed in the Jacuzzi and the sauna.

Next exercise session is on Friday. I’m thinking that I will do something different then. I don’t want to get bored with my routine. Maybe I shall take a class or something? Maybe a Body Combat or Hatha Yoga. The yoga class sounds really interesting. “This class encompasses all styles of physical Yoga. Asanas (postures) and Pranayama (breathing) are used to release physical and mental tensions.” Might be the perfect start for the weekend?
