I’ve decided to change my blog layout once again.
I know, I know… but I think it’s really fun to change it and work with coding. Sometimes I miss programming things. Maybe I should do a computer game or something… but nah… too big of a project. Would take too much time from my writing. So while I’ve been pondering over the last assignment, to get three new ideas (I’ve got two, one to go), I’ve started the re-design of my site.
This time it will be a three-column layout. I’ve had it before and I liked it. And some other changes here and there. A different feel all together I think. Not really sure what it will look like when I’m finished but that’s part of the fun. To see it come together from nothing to something great.
Last night while making the bed I managed to hurt my elbow
So I had to pass on my planned yoga today. I was really looking forward to it but now I start to think that it was just as well that I didn’t do it as my body feels weird. Maybe I’ve caught a bug or something… Don’t want to be sick now.
I’m off to refill my coffee cup, do some more programming and let lightning strike a third time.
I’m keeping myself busy with all the writing courses I’m taking at the moment. I’m taking two courses over at Savvy Authors, “Life in a Medieval Castle” and “Understanding Scene: How Goal, Motivation, Conflict and Disaster factor into it” and then “How to think sideways” that I’m starting over with. So I’ve got my work cut out for me but I enjoy every second of it. Yesterday I was busy doing Sweet Spot Maps for How to think sideways. Today I’ve been reading up on castles and to be specific about Warwick Castle. The castle isn’t too far away from where I live so I really look forward to visiting it in person. I’ve also worked on my wip, working out my main characters central story question and the first scenes micro-goals. Not nearly as easy as it sounds
At the moment I’ve just finished reading through the material for week three of How to think sideways and I’m now waiting for lightning to strike. Three story ideas is what I need for this weeks assignment.
Now I’m done for today. I’m in the mood for a movie…. I think it has to be something scary though
One of the best things with our new apartment is that it has a small room that I can use as my office/writing space. At the moment it’s a bit of a mess with boxes along one side of the room, no curtains etc but I will sort it out… eventually.

But the thing is, it’s MY room. A place where I can hide and write or do whatever I want. I don’t have to keep it neat and organised just in case someone else needs to use it. It’s mine, mine, mine!

This is the view I have when I sit at my desk.
I hope this little place will help write all the stories I have inside me.
I love coffee. I l.o.v.e. coffee! For some reason I barely drank coffee for several years but now I’ve found my way back to one of the loveliest drinks known to man. Black coffee – no milk, no sugar.

And I love to have my coffee in cups and I don’t mind if the cup and the saucer doesn’t match. In fact, that’s what I’m aiming for in our home. A cosy mismatch of things. So I scour second hand shops in hope to find things that make my heart flutter with joy.

Apart from coffee and water there is another beverage that I wouldn’t want to be without. My green monsters. They are so energising and the taste is incredible. Lately I’ve been adding frozen mango to my smoothies *yum*
I’ve also been slightly obsessed with a new artist I find on Spotify recently. Eliza Doolittle, I really like her happy pop tunes. Unfortunately I can’t embed her music videos on youtube but if you want to hear them just follow the links:

My latest oats-concoction. I wasn’t feeling too well the other day so I wanted something comforting and after reading about banana custard oats over at Finding Radiance I just knew I had to give it a go.
I mashed a banana and mixed it together with 200 ml milk, 100 ml oats, about 1 tsp vanilla extract. Then I cooked it for a few minutes until it thickened and right at the end I whisked in a whole egg. Let it cook for a little while longer making sure to whisk the oats thoroughly to not let the egg get scrambled. Poured it up on a plate and piled on frozen blueberries and strawberries. I like to add frozen fruit to my oats as I like to eat them cold, the hot porridge will thaw the fruit while I eat so they end up just the way I like them.
I loved this version of oats. So creamy and smooth. The banana makes the dish just sweet enough and the vanilla makes it feel like a dessert. I will definitely do this again.
